The Outreach Committee seeks to increase awareness of "appellate practice" as a specialty area of law by establishing good working relationships and "partnerships" with other Florida Bar sections and committees, as well as other lawyer-related organizations in Florida. These "partnerships" are designed to encourage participation in joint CLE programs and publications, joint sponsorship of social events, and an exchange of information helpful to the operations of each organization. To assist in forming these important relationships, members of the Outreach Committee serve as liaisons to the "partner" organizations by attending their meetings and facilitating the exchange of information between the groups.

The Outreach Committee also works to increase the general membership of the Appellate Practice Section and to encourage all members to take an active leadership role in the section. Once the proposed APS by-law change is approved by the Board of Governors to allow law school professors and students to join the APS as associate members, the Outreach Committee will interact with the law schools to encourage and solicit associate memberships.

The Outreach Committee is open to assisting the APS in other ways and welcomes new committee members and/or ideas to expand the usefulness of the Committee.
