Washington, D.C. — October 4-6, 2018

Registration is now open for the Section's biennial Fall Meeting and Retreat, this year in Washington, D.C., October 4-6, 2018. The Section's Fall committee meetings and Executive Council meeting will occur in conjunction with this event. Washington, D.C. is a hub of appellate activity, and a very exciting agenda has been planned.

Scheduled highlights include a kickoff reception at the Supreme Court, CLE programming, including a special CLE presentation at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, and a facilitated planning session where we will join to plan our Section's future. There will be plenty of time to explore our nation's capital, and optional tours are available at some of our country's most captivating museums. Please click here for the full brochure of events.

Chair's July Message

Members, in selecting me to serve as Chair of the Appellate Practice Section of the Florida Bar, you have given me the ultimate honor, and I am so grateful. Thanks to the hard work of Immediate Past Chair, Kristin Norse, and countless others who have led our Section, we are doing amazing work, and our future as a Section is bright.

The Appellate Practice Section Is Headed to Washington D.C. — and You Are Invited!

Following up on the Section's successful and well-attended 2016 Key West retreat, the Section is excited to announce it will hold its next biannual retreat in Washington D.C. October 4-6, 2018. The Section's Executive Council meeting will occur in conjunction with the retreat. The hotel location remains to be determined and you'll be getting more information soon, but for now be sure and save the date. Given that Washington D.C. is the home of our three branches of federal government, opportunities abound for a very exciting agenda. If you have any programming ideas, retreat co-chairs Hala Sandridge and Tom Hall welcome your input.
