All Section Members are welcome to attend all meetings. You do not have to be a committee or executive council member to attend. These meetings are a great opportunity for you to get involved, voice your ideas and stay informed of the Section's events and issues.

The Record is now on the Section Website, via email PDF and hard copy. The Record is actively welcoming your articles and suggestions. The deadline for The Record Summer Issue is June 15, 2006. The deadline for The Record Fall Issue is October 15, 2006.

Appellate Practice Pro Se Handbook
in its Final Stages
The Appellate Practice Pro Se Handbook is in its final stages of editing. The Handbook will assist self-represented litigants with the appellate process. The Section hosted the 2006 Appellate Certification Review Seminar in Tampa this past February. Many people have found the materials for the Appellate Certification Review Seminar to be invaluable. Audiotapes of the seminar are available for order at www.floridabar.org or by calling 850-561-5816. Additionally, if you are interested in board certification, please check the Section's website for details regarding the requirements.
The monthly lunchtime telephone seminars continue to be well-received and will be continued. Check the Section's website for the schedule for the upcoming lunchtime telephone seminars and the directions for signing up for the entire series. They are held the third Tuesday of every month, starting at 12:10 p.m., for 50 minutes, ending at 1:00 p.m. These CLEs are conducted once each month, except for June and December.
Plans are underway to host the "Inside the Eleventh Circuit" Seminar in Atlanta this October 2006. In the coming months, the Section is also looking to host a "Hot Topics in Appellate Law" Seminar this Fall, 2006. The Section continues to explore the possibility of CLE programs on Workers' Compensation Appeals.

Wow! What Else Is Happening?
The Section's website continues to undergo improvements. Updates of Section events and news will continue to be posted. All non-current editions of The Record are continuing to be scanned for posting to the website. A searchable index will be added within the next year.
