The Appellate Practice Section of The Florida Bar is an organization dedicated to promoting professionalism, collegiality, and excellent written and oral advocacy in Florida’s state and federal courts of appeals. Comprised of more than a thousand Florida Bar members – civil and criminal, plaintiff and defense, private practitioners, government lawyers, and judges – the Section presents continuing legal education programs, publishes articles, distributes pro bono opportunities, and encourages the exchange of ideas and information among its membership. From debates about footnote usage and fonts to the propriety of the “cleaned up” citation, the Appellate Practice Section provides a way for appellate lawyers and judges to interact with each other, enhance their skills, and deepen their appreciation of the appellate process.
