Statutory Construction: The Tools of the Trade

During the one-hour session, Daniel Nordby will discuss the tools available to practitioners for the evaluation of statutory and constitutional construction. Dan will also discuss when you might want to use these tools and when it may be best not to do so.

Meet the Speaker

Daniel Nordby is a partner in the Tallahassee office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where he is a member of the firm’s Appellate Practice Group. Daniel’s practice focuses on high-profile, high stakes matters of law and public policy, particularly in the areas of constitutional, appellate and administrative law. Over the course of his career, Daniel has developed extensive experience in the area of government and administrative law. He is a Past Chair of the Florida Bar’s Administrative Law Section and is one of only 81 attorneys who are Florida Bar Board Certified in the area of State and Federal Government and Administrative Practice. Before joining Shutts & Bowen, Daniel’s extensive career in public service included terms as General Counsel to the Governor, General Counsel to the Florida House of Representatives, and General Counsel to Florida’s Secretary of State.
